VIDEO: Here’s How To Cut Your Doorframe Out!

In this quick video, I show you how to cut the pre-hung doorframe out from the surrounding studs. This is in preparation for the new door to be installed. This is the last major step before the new door system goes in. While having a power saw on hand REALLY helps, you can manage by hand as well, and could potentially pry this frame out as well.

As you’ll see, make sure you have your batteries charged up if you’re using a battery tool. While I have backups and different sets, most DIYers do not have multiple sets as I do. This is my business, so it makes sense for me to have all the special gadgets. But for you, you don’t want to get all pumped up and ready to tackle your door project only to have to wait an hour or two while your batteries charge up.
