Bathroom towel rod pulling out?

Have you ever had trouble with your bathroom towel rod pulling out of the wall? Annoying, isn't it?

The mounting brackets pulling out can happen for a variety of reasons. The wrong drywall anchors being used, busy kids, a misplaced hand hold after a slip, and years of wear and tear.

While life inevitably happens, using the wrong anchors is the most common reason your towel rod ends up hanging down. Using the proper drywall anchors can keep this from happening!

If you're looking to keep your towel rod from drooping, here's a couple tips:

Don't use the anchors that come with your towel rod kit. This is a universal tip for almost anything you mount and hang on the wall. Usually these are the tiny little expansion anchors that you are supposed to drill a small hole for and tap into the wall with a hammer. While these can be appropriately used for a variety of different wall projects, towel rods are not one of them! Instead, get a pack of larger anchors that have a heavier weight rating. This will help to make sure that your towel rod doesn't start popping itself out of the wall through daily use.

If you have this problem currently happening with a dropping towel rod, you can still fix it by carefully removing the existing anchors and installing an anchor with a larger head or a toggle style anchor!
