TV Mounting Tips, Part 1/6

Two tips for getting the best TV mount!

Whether you're getting a bigger flatscreen or upgrading from a very old square behemoth-of-a-box, mounting a TV on your wall at a better viewing level and away from kids' hands is something many TV owners come to at some point. We install a good handful every week and wanted to share two tips on getting the best TV mount...

1. Get the right mount. Don't try to save a few bucks for a mount that "should" be okay for the size and weight rating. A TV is heavy and can seriously hurt someone if the mount fails.

2. Upgrade your mount. A basic mount does basically nothing but hold your TV on the wall. A tilt mount angles up and down to ensure that all the kiddos can watch from the floor while you can adjust it for couch viewing later. A swivel mount allows you to change the angle side to side so you can watch from either the family room or the kitchen. We recommend going for a full-motion mount which tilts/swivels/and extends so you can comfortably watch your TV from anywhere in the room!
